Volunteer Roles & Time Commitments

Below are various roles and opportunities available, along with estimated time commitments. You can sign up to volunteer one time or as much as you like. We're always looking for help from the community. Volunteer opportunities open April 10, 2025

Event Volunteer

Assist with the planning and execution of events, including rallies, workshops, and fundraisers. Responsibilities may include setup, registration, and cleanup.

Time Commitment: Varies (typically 1-3 hours per event)

Community Liaison

Engage with local community to raise awareness about our initiatives. This role involves distributing materials, and building relationships with local groups/organizations.
 

Time Commitment: 1-4 hours per month

Conflict Resolution Mediator

Serve as a mediator during events or discussions where tensions may arise. This role involves actively listening to differing perspectives, facilitating dialogue, and helping to find common ground. Strong interpersonal skills and experience in conflict resolution or mediation are essential. Note: Training will be provided to equip you with effective techniques and strategies for managing conflicts peacefully.
 

Time Commitment: 2-6 hours per month

Social Media Boosters

Help boost our social media presence by creating and posting content, liking, engaging with followers, and promoting events. Knowledge of platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, etc. is beneficial.

 

Time Commitment: 1-5 hours per week

Legal Support Team

Collaborate with local legal organizations to ensure that activists are informed about their rights and have access to legal representation when necessary. Help create/conduct workshops for group members on legal rights during protests and how to handle interactions with law enforcement.

Time Commitment: Unknown

Research Assistant

Conduct research on relevant social issues, compile data, and assist in creating handouts and educational materials. Strong analytical and writing skills are a plus.

 

Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per month

Workshop Leader

Lead workshops and training sessions on topics related to our mission. Experience in education or facilitation is preferred but not necessary.

 

Time Commitment: 1-4 hours per month

Fundraising Volunteer

Support our fundraising efforts by helping to organize campaigns, reaching out to potential ally groups, and assisting with proposal writing.

Time Commitment: TBD

Activities Coordinator

Plan and lead non-political centric events that promote community bonding and personal well-being. This role involves organizing activities such as wellness workshops, art classes, group hikes, and social gatherings aimed at recharging and uplifting community spirits. You’ll work to create a welcoming environment where members can connect and recharge. Experience in event planning and a passion for community engagement are highly valued but not required.
 

Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per week

We hold regular orientation sessions for new volunteers to learn about our organization and how they can contribute that can be scheduled after an agreement and acceptance to volunteer.
